Permanent Gloucestershire
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cisco Senior Network Engineer to provide professional services for Forfusion on behalf of a major network equipment vendor. The role will expose the SNE to a significant proportion of the vendor’s portfolio and, where required, support will be provided to the SNE by the manufacturers Advanced Services team.
The SNE will act as the primary technical contact at a prestigious customer location in Gloucestershire.
Duties expected of the SNE are:
Provide guidance on Architectural, Design, Support and Implementation issues related to Routing, Switching, Security and Network Management
It is expected that the SNE will be able to resolve queries related to core competencies, however it is anticipated that this will not always be the case. Where a query cannot be answered by the SNE the query will be triaged and access provided to the vendors Advanced Services, Business Units and TAC. To fulfil this role access is given to a significant proportion of the vendor’s internal databases, documentation and support processes.
The successful applicant will have previously worked in a senior design role, and have demonstrable experience in supporting, troubleshooting, problem solving, fault diagnosis, network administration and technical support of complex Cisco networks.
This is a senior engineering position within Forfusion and potential exists to work on other contracts. All applicants must be willing to work on other clients where required, potentially fulfilling design, implementation, test or support roles.
As well as an in depth knowledge of Cisco technologies and systems, the following qualifications, attributes and experience are mandatory for the SNE:
This role is based on site at the client premises and hours will generally be aligned to a normal working day (0900-1700) However, due to the nature of the environment there will be times when out of hours work is needed. Flexibility with working hours is expected, including being on call should the business require it.
If the successful candidate doesn’t hold DV clearance then they will be employed within Forfusion’s commercial team, primarily working from home and employed as a third line engineer for the NOC or assisting project teams.
This is an office based role; with potential for a small amount of travel to other customers sites.
