How can Forfusion help me? 

As a recent signatory to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant, Forfusion is committed to offering opportunities to service leavers, and recognise that a significant challenge faced by service leavers is getting relevant industry experience on their CVs.

We are therefore offering an opportunity for service leavers to join Forfusion on a Civilian Work Attachment (CWA) as part of a structured training package to ensure that service leavers have skills which are relevant to industry.

Who would be interest? 

We are interested in speaking to any service leaver looking to obtain work experience within Unified Communications, Networks, Security or Data Centre technologies with particular emphasis on Cisco and Microsoft.

What commitment is required?

Forfusion's CWA is a structured programme running over a period of up to 12 months, it is expected that the service leaver will commit a minimum of three weeks (ideally more) of their Graduated Resettlement Time with Forfusion and a structured training plan will be put in place to ensure that the successful applicant gets as much out of the opportunity as possible.

Should an applicant wish to work beyond their CWA entitlement using their Annual or Terminal Leave then subject to relevant permissions being obtained then this would be possible.

As well as obtaining experience within the workplace, it is expected that the service leaver will put in place a learning plan to obtain industry recognised qualification (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE or similar) and that this is progressed throughout the placement.

What experience would you get? 

The service leaver would obtain valuable experience within the workplace within a wide range of business areas focussed on ensuring the service leaver has a smooth transition to civilian employment. Typical experience that may be gained includes:

• Forfusion Service Desk - Obtain an understanding of how a service desk operates including tools used and obtain experience in fault finding across a wide range of technology areas.
• Lab exercises tailored to the technology areas the service leaver needs experience in.
• Mentoring from a Forfusion engineer who has significant experience in industry - mentoring would be available throughout the placement, not just when on working on site. 
• On the job training working on customer sites
